“La gente tiene preguntas sobre cómo se usará la información”, dice Cha Vang, Directora de Organización Estatal para HIP. “Comenzó con la cuestión de inmigración y, aunque ya no está en el Censo, igual generó miedo en las personas”.


Su organización también ha estado llamando a las puertas y realizando campañas telefónicas. La educación, seguida de los beneficios de la atención médica y la red de seguridad son de particular importancia para la comunidad Hmong y el sudeste asiático, que tiene una población joven.


“Es tan importante para la comunidad asiática asegurarse de que se nos cuente”, dice Vang. “Recuerden, este es nuestro hogar; no vamos a ir a ninguna parte.
